Watch as Better Homes and Gardens shows you how to replace a faucet! Before getting professional help to replace a faucet or for faucet installation to give your bathroom a facelift, you may be able to do it yourself. Count the number of holes in your sink or countertop to determine what style of faucet you'll need. To install a faucet, you'll need adjustable wrenches, a basin wrench, and the new fixture. Turn off the water supply and turn on the faucet to drain the line. Unscrew the mounting nets and disconnect the supply lines on the existing faucet. Wipe away any residue after removing it. Follow the manufacturer's directions for the seal. Insert the lift road and ensure the knobs are in the 'off' position. Connect everything under the counter. Screw the mounting nets to the faucet and tighten them with a basin wrench. Connect the supply lines first to the faucet, then to the shut-off valves. Use an adjustable wrench to hold the shut-off valve in place before you turn the water back on. Use the other to tighten the water line. Turn the water back on, letting it run for a few seconds to ensure there are no leaks. Save money on your home repair by replacing faucets with this quick fix in home remodeling and repair!
