Fallen NSW Labor powerbroker Eddie Obeid is scheduled to appear in a Sydney court on Thursday on charges of misconduct in office.

His disgraced ally and fellow former minister Ian Macdonald will also front the Downing Centre Local Court on the same allegations.

In June, ICAC found Obeid had engaged in corrupt conduct by misusing his position as a member of parliament to benefit his family's financial interests.

He was subsequently charged over his alleged inducement of senior NSW Maritime Authority bureaucrat, Stephen Dunn, to give favourable treatment to an Obeid-linked company that owned valuable Circular Quay cafe leases.

Obeid was stripped of his Order of Australia (OAM) and also lost the title "honourable" this month.

Macdonald is being prosecuted for misconduct in public office over his handling of a lucrative mining licence at Doyles Creek in the Hunter Valley.
