“We are confident we can help Anna become the world class player that she has the potential to be.”

The Melbourne Stars prospect is waiting anxiously for the WNCL fixture to be published. When it is, she will circle the ACT's date with Victoria.

Not only will it be her first crack at her old team, but it will be the first time she has played against her sister - Australian captain Meg Lanning.

"I don’t think we have ever really played against each other so it will definitely be interesting. I certainly do like having her on my team but there will be a little bit of niggle out there that’s for sure," Lanning said.

"It’s exciting, it’s something different for me. Obviously I have been in Victoria for about eight years and had a great time there but it’s a new chapter for me and a new part in my career so I’m really excited.

"We’ve got a really strong squad so I think gelling together is obviously going to be the most important thing.

"We’ve got some outstanding players so if we can all gel and come together and play some really good cricket then I think we will compete this year."

Lanning headlines a trio of fresh faces in the ACT's ranks with Zoe Cooke and Matilda Lugg  joining the squad.

South African superstars Marizanne Kapp and Dane van Niekirk, as well as Nicole Goodwin and Emily Leys, will not return to the Meteors.

ACT Meteors squad: Erin Osborne, Angela Reakes, Hayley Jensen, Nicola Hancock, Katie Mack, Claire Koski, Erin Burns, Erica Kershaw, Matilda Lugg, Maitlan Brown, Clara Iemma, Samantha Bates, Zoe Cooke, Anna Lanning.
