Jack de Belin has conceded it was now or never for his State of Origin hopes as the Dragons enforcer confirmed he would be on the training paddock as soon as Tuesday despite battling a persistent hip problem.

Rookie NSW coach Brad Fittler confirmed de Belin and Brisbane flyer James Roberts, the only players who have struggled with niggles coming into camp, would be right to take some part in the Blues' first session.

De Belin, one of 11 debutants in Fittler's first NSW squad for the series opener at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on June 6, has limped through the last month with a painful hip pointer problem.

Fittler has also gambled on Brisbane flyer Roberts despite the 25-year-old pulling up with an achilles issue in the Broncos' win over the Eels last Thursday night.

"If you speak to anyone who’s had them they’re irritating more than anything," de Belin said of his injury. "They just hang around. They’re kind of hard to shake and it’s the go with mine at the moment. It’s still giving me a little bit of grief, but I’ve got a bit of time to get it right.
