John King, the incoming Myer CEO faces a baptism of fire when he formally takes up his position on June 4.

Myer’s appointment of King in April was, in large measure, based on his turnaround strategy success with the British department store, House of Fraser, between 2006 and 2014.

Although there has been some question marks over the sustainability of the House of Fraser turnaround, under his tenure King and his management team consistently grew revenues and pre-tax earnings.
