Less than a week after beloved NCIS character Abby Sciuto's final episode aired, the actor who played her, Pauley Perrette, has tweeted a cryptic stream of accusations implying all was not well on set in the lead-up to the end of her 15-year tenure.

Although she wouldn't reveal the culprit, Perrette suggested someone – a man – was responsible for bullying, including physical assaults, that led to her exit.

"I refused to go low, that's why I've never told publicly what happened. But there are tabloid articles out there that are telling total lies about me," she tweeted on Saturday.

Perrette appeared to question her own decision not to speak up about whatever happened, while alluding to it being a "crime" and that "he did it" – while she is being kept "silent" by a "very rich, very powerful publicity machine".
