SYDNEY Tower Eye has closed its Sky Walk after a man died from a 309m fall this afternoon.

NSW Police say the fatal plunge is not being treated as suspicious and it is understood the man was wearing a harness at the start of the walk.

Sydney Tower Eye released a statement saying the Sky Walk was closed until further notice.

“Following an incident, the attraction is closed until further notice,” the statement read.

Police locked down busy Pitt St in the CBD after the man’s death.

Emergency services were called to the Sydney Eye Tower, formally known as Centrepoint Tower, about 2.45pm.

A NSW Ambulance spokesman said there were reports of several witnesses suffering from shock.
