A WOMAN who was believed to have been kidnapped on the Gold Coast after multiple witnesses reported seeing her forced into a van at knifepoint on a Queensland road has been found alive.

QLD Police this evening issued an urgent appeal for public assistance to help find the woman and the man who allegedly took her hostage.

The woman reportedly staged a near escape when she jumped from the passenger side of the van before flagging down a black van on Pappas Way, in Nerang about 6pm.

As she tried to get into the vehicle, the white van rammed it from behind several times, forcing it into the gutter.

The driver of the white van exited the vehicle and produced a knife, forcing the woman from the black van back into the white one, before fleeing the scene.

“This is something we’re very concerned about,” a QLD Police spokeswoman told news.com.au earlier today.

The vehicle was last seen on Lawrence Drive in Nerang until police located it in Carrara, about 8.5kms away, around midnight local time.

A QLD Police spokeswoman told news.com.au that authorities had also located the man and woman. It was not yet known if the woman had suffered any injuries but police said she was alive and “safe”. According to police, witnesses reported seeing another bystander film the alleged kidnapping and ramming incident, on their mobile phone. Police earlier appealed for that person and anyone else with information or possible dashcam footage in the area to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
