A woman has died in hospital after what is believed to have been an attempted carjacking in the Perth suburb of Mirrabooka, which led to a manhunt through the city's northern suburbs.
The woman, believed to be aged in her 50s, was seriously injured after being hit by the car in Cedar Court — a cul-de-sac — just before 10:00am.
She died in hospital a short time later.
The car remains outside the home and the male driver, who allegedly fled on foot, has been arrested following a 90 minute manhunt across the northern suburbs.
Detectives and forensic police have cordoned off the street as they investigate the incident and interview neighbours.
Police are yet to reveal what sparked the incident or confirm if the woman was the victim of an attempted carjacking.
They will release more information about the incident later today.
