Every month Stan, Netflix Australia, Foxtel on Demand, Docplay and Hayu add heaps of new content, so we’ve picked a few highlights for January.

New to our monthly round-ups, Docplay streams the best documentaries from Australia and around the world, and Hayu brings you the most popular reality shows that everyone is talking about.

You may have already seen Geoffrey Wright’s headline-making 1992 film Romper Stomper, and Stan’s brand-new original series picks up the story 25 years later. The series features a few familiar faces as well as a new generation of the activist right-wing, their anti-fascist counterparts and three young Muslims caught between the conflict.

It premieres on New Year’s Day. Watch the trailer below.

American screen veterans Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin return for Netflix’s original series Grace and Frankie‘s fourth season in January. This season Lisa Kudrow debuts as Grace’s (Fonda’s) long-time manicurist and contender for new best friend to oust Frankie (Tomlin).

Couples counselling, open marriages, childbirth and sexual liberation are all on the agenda.

In January, documentary Tomorrow premieres on Docplay. It’s all about the end of the world, basically. The demise of the human race, the collapse of the earth and an all-around apocolypse is looking likely for the future unless someone comes up with a plan. French actor and filmmaker Mélanie Laurent sets out across the globe with a small film crew to meet several people who have come up with creative ways to save the world.
