The Australian dollar slumps on flat retail numbers

The Australian dollar fell hard on news of weak official retail sales numbers.

A short time ago, the dollar was trading at US 0.7690, down 0.30%.

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), sales growth was flat at 0.0% in seasonally adjusted terms, missing expectations for a gain of 0.4%.
