The jury in the Rolf Harris trial has been discharged after it failed to reach verdicts on any of the four charges of indecent assault the Australian entertainer was facing.
The jury of seven women and five men deliberated for four hours and 47 minutes after going out on Friday afternoon.
Harris' solicitor Daniel Berke read out a statement on behalf of his client after the jury was discharged.
"Whilst I am pleased that this is finally all over, I feel no sense of victory, just relief," he said.
"My wife is in ill health and we simply want to spend our remaining time together in peace."
Harris also thanked his friends and family for supporting him through "this difficult period".
The 87-year-old had pleaded not guilty to all charges and did not give evidence in the London court.
Three women claimed he had groped them when they were girls aged between 13 and 16 in the 1970s and '80s.
The prosecution's Jonathan Rees QC told the court the Crown would not seek a retrial.
Harris will return to his home in Berkshire, having completed a jail sentence for 12 previous convictions of indecent assault against girls and young women.
