A cyclist has died in a collision with a ute driving the same way on a Victorian highway.
Attempts to resuscitate the man who was struck on the Princes Highway in Pakenham on Friday morning were unsuccessful.
The cyclist's death brings the road toll for the Easter long weekend to five.
A man died also on Friday when his four-wheel drive veered off the road and hit a tree near the NSW-Victorian border.
The 38-year-old was driving alone when he crashed in Brocklesby, northwest of Albury, and died at the scene.
Thursday also saw a number of road deaths.
A 46-year-old man who police say may have been lying on the road in Palmerston, near Darwin, died after being hit by a car about 7.30pm.
The woman and a teenager in the car didn't see the man when they ran over him, police say. The pair were in shock and no charges will be laid.
Earlier a 27-year-old died when his car collided with a ute in the NSW Hunter region, while in east Victoria, a person died in a single vehicle crash.
