The Orpheus House from which Georgina Drinkwater fell to her death.

A MUM of two texted a friend to say her boyfriend was “drunk” and being “aggressive” three minutes before she plunged to her death from a third-floor balcony.

Popular Georgina Drinkwater was five months pregnant with her third child when she plummeted to the pavement nearly 10m below in Queens Park, North West London, reports The Sun.

The 30-year-old mum had left her kids with a friend before heading to a party at the nearby Mason’s Arms pub the night before the tragedy in February 2014.

The desperate screams of her boyfriend, Robert Weldon, 26, crying “somebody help me, somebody help me” were heard by neighbours shortly after she fell to her death.

He was arrested at the scene outside Orpheus House in Harrow Road but has not been charged due to “insufficient evidence”, an inquest heard today.

Just a few minutes before, Georgina had sent a text to her friend Claire Wilson saying: “Claire, call as soon as possible. He’s on his mad drunk aggressive thing.”

The mum is said to have made seven calls to her friend within a few minutes — with two of the calls made in the minute before the fatal fall.

Her friend had her phone on silent and was therefore unaware of the calls and text at the time.

Weldon later told detectives his girlfriend slipped while trying to climb down to the second-floor balcony below, the inquest heard.

Referring to his police interview Detective chief inspector Andrew Chalmers, whose team from the Met’s Homicide and Serious Crime Command unit took charge of the police investigation, said: “Ms Drinkwater had tried to leave the flat and he [Weldon] prevented her from doing so by standing in front of the door.

“Mr Weldon said in his interview the mother-of-two walked out onto the balcony after an argument raged for up to 40 minutes and said: ‘Don’t tempt me’.

“He went over in time to see her fall to the street.”

Mr Weldon told police: “I walked over and told her, ‘What the f*** are you doing?’”

He said he then asked her “are you crazy?” before adding: “She went to climb down to the second floor and that is when she lost her grip.”

The couple, who got together in 2012, were said to be involved in a turbulent relationship and argued a lot over Weldon’s employment status, his drinking, and his ex-partners.

Police had been previously called out when the pair had argued.

Insp Chalmers played CCTV footage showing the couple’s journey from the pub to Georgina’s flat.

They left the Mason’s Arms at 1.53am on February 23, 2014, then made their way to The Booze Spot in Harrow Road at 2.02am where the mum-of-two bought crisps and Weldon purchased two bottles of beer.

“He appears to be drunk and Georgina is nudging him away because he is resting his hand on her,” said Insp Chalmers.

“She appears to be frustrated with Mr Weldon’s behaviour.”

CCTV from Harrow Road then captures the pair walking past the Central Pharmacy — and Weldon looks to have a bottle of drink in his hand.

The couple then enter the flats at Orpheus House at 2.18am but the court heard that the quality of footage of the third floor is hampered by street lights.

“At 2.52.28, you can see some movement from the position where the fall is and then what we know now is Ms Drinkwater is falling and this is around the second-floor balcony area — but this may be because that is the first part of the building shown in the footage,” the policeman said.

“At 2.52.40 hours you see the body falling and hitting the ground.”

A camera inside the building the reportedly showed Weldon running outside.

It was suggested at the inquest, held at Westminster coroner’s court, that the footage showed some movement in the area of the balcony before the fall.

“It would be impossible to say whether it is part of the falling process or whether it is something more prolonged,” said Insp Chalmers.

Police then turned to a message Ms Drinkwater sent to her friend Claire Wilson just three minutes before she fell to her death.

Pregnant mum Georgina had previously worked as a manager at Carphone Warehouse in Hampstead before becoming a fulltime mother to her two daughters, Grace, then aged eight, and Faith, then 11 months, when she died.

She was due to find out the sex of her unborn baby the following week.

At the time of her death her father Malcolm Drinkwater told the London Evening Standard: “We have lost the light of our lives, she was too young to die. She was a beautiful girl.”

Best friend Amy, 30, who met Georgina when they were both young teenagers and lived in the same block of flats, added: “She was absolutely beautiful and was the best friend that I have ever had. She was bubbly and always had a smile on her face.”

Another friend, Helen Nsinba, 30, of Pimlico, said: “Her kids were her world. She loved life and was always smiling.”

The inquest continues.
