14-year-old singer/songwriter Sophie Rose will donate 100% of her proceeds from her new song “Firefly” to ACT Today! (Autism Care and Treatment).
“There are so many children who are eager to shine bright. I hope this song serves as a beacon of light for those with special needs and inspires them to be the best they can be and reach as far as they can reach. I also hope “Firefly” will encourage compassion and understanding for young people with autism,” said Sophie Rose.
Proceeds from the purchase of “Firefly” will allow ACT Today! to provide immediate and direct help to children with autism, including behavioral therapy, medical treatment, assistive technology, assistance dogs, social skills programs, tuition for special needs schools and assistance to military families with children with autism.
Sophie Rose will receive the 2014 Golden Cowgirl tribute award on October 19, 2014 at ACT Today!’s 9th Annual Denim & Diamonds for Autism fundraiser, presented by Puritas Organic Gold. She will join fellow 2014 honorees actress Holly Robinson Peete, former NFL quarterback Rodney Peete, and actor Nolan Gould (“Modern Family”). The fundraiser will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village. More than 500 attendees are expected to attend the red carpet gala, including film, television and sports celebrities, the corporate community and other autism supporters.
