It's easy to chiffonade basil using an easy rolling technique. Basil chiffonade are thinly cut strips of basil that make a pretty and flavorful garnish. Start by grabbing your basil leaves and stacking two or three together, with the largest on the bottom. Next, roll up your basil like a cigar. Make sure to roll gently so you don't bruise your basil. Next, slice your basil cross-wise thinly with a sharp knife. Unroll your basil cigars. If they look like little ribbons of basil, then this is a successful basil chiffonade. Now you can top off your favorite dishes with basil chiffonade.
