Add a colorful accent to your home with this easy decorating craft from Better Homes and Gardens. To learn how to paint a terra-cotta pot, start by stretching a rubber band at an angle around the pot. Paint the pot below the rubber band with primer, then let it dry. Paint over the primer with acrylic craft paint, then let it dry. Wrap the top, unpainted part of the terra-cotta pot in aluminum foil. Apply two to three coats of spray shellac, then let it dry. Score the paint along the edge of the rubber band to loosen it. Cut the rubber band, then peal it off. Decorate your home with your new homemade painted terra-cotta pot!
