Oily skin in summers and how to take care of oily skin in summers. Skin care starts with finding out your skin type. To find your skin type go to bed after washing your face and without applying moisturiser or toner. In the morning if your skin feels oily on the forehead and nose but dry elsewhere then you have combination skin. If it feels oily all over then you have an oily skin.
Taking care of oily/combination skin in summers.
1.Oily and combination skin type becomes more oily during summers.
2. Cleansing several times a day is an absolute no.
3. Use a gentle pH neutral cleanser to cleanse your face twice a day.
4. Maintain skin hydration. If you dry out your skin then oil glands will produce more oil to compensate leading to a more oily skin.
5. If you need to wash your face more than two times a day then use lukewarm water only. Do not use cleanser more than twice a day.
6. People with oily skin also need moisturizer. Even people with acne or pimples need to use moisturizer. People with oily skin need a more gentle and lighter moisturizer.
7. Find a moisturizer that suits your skin type. Try a few. Eventually everyone finds a moisturizer that suits their skin type.
8. A moisturizer is right for you if it feels just right when you apply it on your skin.
9. A right moisturizer should neither feel very oily or leave your skin very dry.
10. People with oily/combination skin also tend to have more open pores. This problem magnifies during summers. If you have open pores and are prone to pimples it is advisable to consult your dermatologist.
