A Sydney transgender woman who was bashed at a Newtown pub has confronted her alleged attackers outside court.
Stephanie McCarthy was left bruised and bleeding with a swollen black eye after a group of men repeatedly punched her at The Town Hall Hotel in the early hours of June 6.
Two men charged over the assault, Nicholas Wells and Alexis Ozanne, came face to face with Ms McCarthy when they faced Newtown Local Court on Thursday, where Ms McCarthy claimed Ozanne threatened to stab her.

Ms McCarthy said Ozanne was winking to her throughout the court proceedings, and blew her a kiss as he exited, saying "I'll see you soon".

"That's when I lost it. I was screaming and yelling. I was just so upset," she said.Â
Mr Ozanne was using a towel to cover his face which Ms McCarthy tried to pull away after they had exited the courthouse.
She was yelling at Ozanne as he fled a photographer waiting outside the court, said a witness, who didn't want to be named.
"There was a lot of swearing," the witness said.
Ms McCarthy said a male friend of the accused men was waiting outside the courtroom and told her "our boys are coming to stab you ... we can get you anywhere".
Both the accused attackers are on bail and Wells pleaded not guilty during a brief mention at the court.
Ozanne successfully had his bail varied and must report to police three times a week.
His mother, the court heard, was going to post a $2000 surety.
Wells is due back at Newtown Local Court on August 13 while Ozanne is to return on July 21 but is not required to appear if legally represented.
Ms McCarthy's ordeal became a lightening rod for the LGBTI community in Newtown, who say they have felt increasingly unsafe since Sydney's lockout laws transformed nightlife in the suburb.
Roughly 300 protesters gathered across the road from the Town Hall Hotel the Monday night after the bashing to show solidarity with McCarthy and voice their concerns.Â
