THE Woollahra home of QC, former diplomat and politician John Spender, which he once shared with his former wife, fashion Queen Carla Zampatti has been sold.

Listed with Bill Malouf of LJ Hooker Double Bay, the Georgian-style home set on 1768sq m sold in June according to CoreLogic RP Data.

No sale price has been revealed but it is understood that the impressive Woollahra property, known as Headingley House, was sold to a local buyer.

The five-bedroom house was built in the 1880s and was redesigned by Professor Leslie Wilkinson in the 1930s.

It had been held by the Spender family since 1949, when it was bought by Sir Percy Spender.

John Spender, QC, moved into the home in 1985 when he was a Member of the House of Representatives for North Sydney.

It was a family home for John Spender and Zampatti, and was first listed in 2012, two years after their divorce.

At that time, it attracted the interest of actor Russell Crowe and had a price guide of about $15 million.

Mr Malouf did not give a direct price guide when he listed the property in March this year, stating only that it was expected to attract a price in the “double-digit millions”.
