McDonald’s restaurants in Australia will now be serving a new all-day breakfast menu, to be rolled out from today.

“Macca’s restaurants across Wollongong and the Illawarra be serving breakfast favourites including the Bacon and Egg and Sausage and Egg McMuffins, Hashbrowns and Hotcakes 24 hours, seven days a week,” McDonald’s said in a press release.

McDonald’s Australia chief marketing officer Mark Lollback said the company had listened to the overwhelming consumer demand, with many people often missing the 10.30am breakfast cut-off, including those late risers on a weekend or shiftworkers.

“We are always listening and taking on feedback from our customers and all-day breakfast was one that people are always asking of us. We are excited to let our customers know that we have heard them and to announce that our Wollongong patrons will have the opportunity to be among the first in Australia to enjoy all-day breakfast,” Mr Lollback said.

The Gold Coast will be the next location to get all day breakfast, from next month. If the Wollongong and Gold Coast experiments are successful, McDonald’s will look into expanding the all-day breakfast menu into other locations around Australia.

Some McDonald’s restaurants in the US are already trialling all-day breakfast.
