Devastating news: Alex and Zoe have gone public about their miscarriage.

One year on from when they met for the first time on their wedding day, Married at First Sight couple Alex and Zoe have shared their heartbreaking news.

Alex and Zoe, the youngest and only couple who weathered the reality TV's finale airing on Monday night, have spoken about the miscarriage that left them devastated.

"Zoe fell pregnant and we didn't want to say anything because we hadn't reached that 12-13 week mark," Alex told A Current Affair on Tuesday night.

"It was the best news I've ever heard to be frank, I couldn't wait to share it with the rest of Australia."

"But unfortunately, Zoe had a miscarriage - so it didn't work out the way we were planning."

The youngest of the four couples who took part in the show that was billed as an audacious social experiment now live together in Melbourne.

The other three couples were less lucky in their love matches arranged by Channel Nine's relationship experts.

James and Michelle seemed the perfect pair when they met on their wedding day, and chose to stick together in the finale episode, but they have since ended their seemingly lustful relationship.

"I was exhausted from the whole experience, so I spent a couple of days in bed, was a little bit down and it took me a little while to come back out of it," James said.

"I think that put a bit of pressure on the relationship," he said.

Michelle is now married to her old flame former NRL player Rob Worsley and broke communication with James in September, two months after filming finished.

"He's a lucky man, she's an amazing woman and I wish them the very best," James said.

Feisty couple Clare and Lachlan spent much of the season in explosive arguments, but looked loved up in the finale, opting to stay together.

But Lachlan told A Current Affair the couple had gone their separate ways.

"There was good times, there were times that weren't good … at the end of the day, they outweighed what was good," he said.

Michael and Ronnie called it quits mid-season, after the chemistry between the strangers on their wedding day subsided.

"I think the chemistry faded over time due to other factors," Michael said.

"Ronnie's a great person and going to find that guy that's right for her. Unfortunately it wasn't me - unfortunate for me as well as Ronnie," he said.

Both Lachlan and Clare, and Michael and Ronnie say they have remained friends with their Married At First Sight partners.
