DONALD Trump shows no signs of backing down in his high-profile squabble with rocker Neil Young.
The property mogul and now Republican presidential hopeful has taken his shock to Twitter by labelling Young a “total hypocrite†after the 69-year-old artist told Trump not to play his music at campaign events.
Trump strode on stage to the sound of Young’s Rockin’ In The Free World at the launch of his 2016 presidency campaign last week.
But Young wasn’t having a bar of it.
His manager released a statement saying Trump “wasn’t authorised†to use the song and explained the Canadian musician was barracking for Democrat Bernie Sanders.
Trump’s campaign manager said they paid for the rights to use the song but would respect Young’s views.
But a gobsmacked Trump clearly hasn’t yet recovered after he this morning fired off a series of tweets attacking Young.
The outspoken billionaire claimed Young had tried to secure an “audio deal†with him and invited him just last week to attend his concert.
Trump even added a document and photo of the pair to back his claims.
In signing off, Trump quips he “didn’t love it (the song) anyway.â€
Neil Young has yet to provide response.
