THE Hamptons estate once owned by pop art doyen Andy Warhol has hit the market with a $110 million price tag.
The estate, bought by Warhol and friend Paul Morrissey in 1972 for about $292,000, is now owned by the CEO of J. Crew, Mickey Drexler, who bought it in 2007 for about $35 million.
According to TopTenRealEstateDeals the estate was originally built by the Church family of Arm & Hammer baking soda as a fishing camp.
Warhol owned a share until his death in 1987 and the property played host to a variety of celebrities including Jerry Hall, Cheryl Tiegs, Liza Minnelli, Liz Taylor, John Lennon, Mick Jagger and Jackie Kennedy.
The 12ha property has a historical equestrian centre, beachside main house and six cottages.
In all there is a total of nine bedrooms and twelve bathrooms, all of which have been restored.
The equine centre has two restored barns which were originally built in the late 1920s.
The property at Cliff Drive and Old Montauk Highway Montauk, New York is listed through Douglas Elliman real estate.
