CRUEL Intentions co-stars Reese Witherspoon, Selma Blair, and Sarah Michelle Gellar have reunited to watch an unauthorised musical parody of their successful 1999 film.
The actresses who played Annette (Witherspoon), Kathryn (Gellar) and Cecile (Blair) teamed up for the movie which helped make them stars, alongside Witherspoon’s former husband Ryan Phillippe.
In the film Kathryn makes a bet that her stepbrother, Sebastian, won’t be able to seduce Annette (a virgin, who wants to wait until love). If he loses, Kathryn gets his Jaguar, if he wins, he gets Kathryn.
The actresses reunited in Los Feliz to watch the parody and clearly enjoyed each other’s company.
“Best girls’ night of the year!!! #cruelintentions,’ the 39-year-old Oscar winner tweeted.
The stars went out after the show for a few drinks.
The trio went out after the show with one fan videoing the actresses singing along to Natalie Imbruglia’s hit Torn.
The 1999 movie was a modern-day remake of the film Dangerous Liasons, which starred Michelle Phieffer, Glenn Close and John Malkovich, which itself was based on the 1782 novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses.
Cruel Intentions however was probably largely remembered for a scene where Blair and Gellar lock lips — an embrace that won them an MTV Movie Award.
The trio have continued to work with Witherspoon winning an Oscar for Walk the Line and scored another nomination this year for Wild.
Gellar had been quiet, dedicating herself to raising her two children with husband Freddie Prinze Jr. However she did team up with the late Robin Williams for the since axed show The Crazy Ones.
Blair starred alongside Charlie Sheen in Anger Management and is currently filming the series American Crime Story in which she plays Kris Jenner, head of the Kardashian clan but prior to that was the wife of Robert Kardashian, OJ Simpson’s lawyer.
