With the A-League Grand Final providing a memorable trophy moment, the Daily Telegraph has decided to take a look at, in no particular order, a gallery of the top 10 trophy fails in sport.

Real Madrid toss trophy away — Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t have enough room in his trophy case. Real Madrid wanted to give something back to the fans. These are both good answers for why Real Madrid dropped their Cope Del Rey trophy back in 2011. Even with all those star players, the team bus still managed to make the best tackle of the night.

Murray wins the match, but lets trophy slip away — In true Andy Murray fashion, the Scotsman won the 2013 Wimbledon trophy, but still managed to ruin what should have been a wonderful moment. After ending a 77-year drought by his countrymen at the tournament, Murray just couldn’t keep his lid on the trophy.

Minnesota ring the Bell a little too hard — The Minnesota Universty American College Football team had just won the Governor’s Victory Bell trophy after defeating Penn State University in 2013. As you can imagine with a bunch of over excited 20-something-year-old jocks, the celebrations started before the last whistle.

Sharapova shakes the US Open to its core — After defeating second-seeded Belgium Justine Henin 6-4,6-4 in the 2006 US Open final, Maria Sharapova was obviously excited with her victory. Maybe a litte too excited ...

Drummond drops the ball — NBA forward Andre Drummond won the award for the Rising Stars MVP at the All Star event in 2014, but while being handed his trophy, he reminded us all that he might not be the brightest star after all.

Bayern Munich manager can’t grasp the win — Usually it's the players that drop the trophy, but not in this case. In 2014, Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga Trophy after a 1-0 victory over Stuttgart. Manager Pep Guardiola was obviously pumped up after the victory and couldn’t control himself when he tried to hold onto the trophy.

Chelios keeps his cool — Chicago Blackhawk Chris Chelios was in the middle of accepting his trophy for being the best defensive player in the NHL in 1996. Although things didn’t go as planned. Chelios still managed to rip out a classic one liner.
