PRINCE Harry has been spotted at a Perth eatery after flying in for the second part of his stint with the Australian Defence Force.
Harry was at The Stables Bar on Hay Street and, according to Perth Radio 6PR callers, he wasn’t approached for a single selfie or autograph.
The Prince drank a Corona, chowed down on pork belly and polished off a dessert platter.
He reportedly paid for his own meal — and restaurant owner Tim McLernon told 6PR the group he was with left “quite a sizeable tipâ€.
“He told me how much he loved the food and when he left I saw them in that very Australian way they got the bill, worked out everyone’s share,†he said.
“He pulled out his own money and threw it in the pot.
“He was a very nice guy, didn’t want to be fussed around and it was a pleasure to have him.â€
McLernon said the restaurant was only given an hour’s notice and staff quickly started preparing for the visit.
“When he got there, we showed him those areas but he didn’t want a bar of that,†he said.
“He sort of said ‘nah, I’m not interested in private areas or being fussed over, I just want to sit with everyone else’ so he grabbed a table and sat downâ€.
After spending time earlier this month with NORFORCE, an infantry regiment of the Army Reserve, the Prince attended Anzac Day commemorations in Gallipoli before returning to Western Australia for the final two weeks of his month-long ADF secondment.
He’s currently training with the Special Air Service Regiment at Campbell Barracks in Swanbourne and will also go to Sydney before leaving for an official tour of New Zealand on May 9.
