SARAH Palin has sparked speculation about a possible White House run after saying ‘of course’ she would be interested in running in the 2016 campaign.
The Republican was the party’s vice presidential nominee in 2008 alongside John McCain. Many believe it was her series of gaffes that cost the Republicans the White House and elected Barack Obama.
Speaking in Des Moines, Iowa, Palin was asked if she would consider a 2016 push for the White House.
“Without putting any words in my mouth, you can absolutely say that I’m seriously interested,†she said. “It’s a significant step, of course, for anyone to publicly announce that they’re interested ... Who wouldn’t be interested? Who wouldn’t be interested when they have been blessed with an opportunity to speak about [issues important the country.] Who would just ignore an opportunity?â€
Few Republicans actually think Palin will stand. She made the same sort of comments in 2012 before declaring that she wouldn’t put her hand up.
Palin still generates her fair share of publicity. Late last year her family was involved in a brawl outside a party they attended.
Then earlier this month she was attacked by animal rights groups for posting a picture of her six-year-old son standing on the family dog as a way to reach the sink in a picture she said was an example of her Down syndrome son ‘overcoming obstacles’.
If Palin is not interested she is definitely interested in people thinking she is interested.
