THIS is the heart-wrenching moment a teenager pulled over to help a cop mowed down in a hit-and-run, only to discover it was her father.
Sergeant Kerstan Tatro pulled over a woman after allegedly spotting her speeding in Gulf Breeze, Florida.
During the traffic stop, driver Amy Lee Giorgio suddenly sped off and as the officer leant in to try to stop her, was dragged along the highway.
Sergeant Tatro fell to the ground, badly breaking his arm in the process.
As other motorists stopped to help by sheer coincidence one of them turned out to be his daughter, Faith.
“I didn’t know what happened,†Faith, 16, told the Pensacola News Journal. “I saw the other car speed off and him on the ground. When I saw him, I freaked out, and I just started crying.â€
On the film, captured by the patrol car’s dashcam recorder, Faith can be seen rushing over to the stricken officer and then being comforted by other passers-by.
Sergeant Tatro told the paper: “She was screaming, ‘My dad, that’s my dad’. This was crushing her. This was killing her, and she shouldn’t have had to witness that. None of those people should have had to witness that. That was an emotional experience for all those folks.â€
After Giorgio drove off, two drivers pursued her and she was later arrested and charged with multiple offences. She allegedly had drugs in her possession.
Police said she has been arrested numerous times for drug offences.
