Speaking to Matt and Bruno, the Kiis FM breakfast host admitted that she’s a huge fan of one of Sandilands’ biggest rivals, Dave Hughes.

“When Hughesy and Kate were on I used to podcast them every single day on the way home,” Jackie O said about the former Nova FM radio stars.

“I thought they were so good.”

But Jackie O didn’t dare tell Sandilands she was a fan because he and Hughes did not get on.

“I would podcast in secret every day on the way home and I’d want to come in the next day and go, ‘Oh my god you should have heard what Hughesy did yesterday Kyle!’

“One day he overheard me say it and he wasn’t happy,” said Jackie O.

Sandilands and Hughes have recently buried the hatchet after a public spat which started in 2007 when the comedian called Sandilands “a massive dickhead” on stage at the Logies.

The radio star later hit back in an interview with Andrew Denton saying, “I hate him (Hughes), the next time I see him I’m going to punch him in the throat”.

Hughesy and Kate are returning to radio next year after they quit their long-running breakfast show at the end of 2013.

The duo will host the national drive show on Kiis FM, the same station that Kyle and Jackie O host the breakfast show on in Sydney.
