Kewley has been a familiar face on Australian screens since making his acting debut at the age of 14 in the 1976 Fred Schepisi-directed film The Devil’s Playground.

From the 1990s onwards, Kewley appeared in a host of TV shows, with recurring roles as Crown Prosecutor Vic Manoulis in the acclaimed ABC crime drama Janus and journalist Tony Timms in Blue Heelers.

In 2010, he was cast as Det. Sgt. Graeme Collins in the first Underbelly spin-off movie, Underbelly Files: Tell Them Lucifer was Here.
