AUSTRALIAN actor Jeremy Kewley, who has appeared in TV shows including Underbelly, Blue Heelers and Stingers, has today been arrested for more than 100 child sex offences.
Victoria Police have confirmed to news.com.au that a 54-year-old Brighton man was arrested this morning and faces charges of “103 counts of indecent acts with a child under 16 and two counts of possessing child pornography,†with the offences allegedly occurring in 2011.
Kewley has been a familiar face on Australian screens since making his acting debut at the age of 14 in the 1976 Fred Schepisi-directed film The Devil’s Playground.
From the 1990s onwards, Kewley appeared in a host of TV shows, with recurring roles as Crown Prosecutor Vic Manoulis in the acclaimed ABC crime drama Janus and journalist Tony Timms in Blue Heelers.
In 2010, he was cast as Det. Sgt. Graeme Collins in the first Underbelly spin-off movie, Underbelly Files: Tell Them Lucifer was Here.
