ADELAIDE and Perth Glory can put years of underachievement behind them by winning tonight’s inaugural FFA Cup final at Coopers Stadium.
Virtually starved of success in the A-League era, the two clubs finally get the chance to emerge from the shadow cast by the likes of Melbourne Victory, Sydney FC, Central Coast Mariners and Brisbane Roar.
Glory have been just as impressive in Cup games as they have in the league, beating Newcastle Jets and Melbourne Victory on their way to the final.
Adelaide have lost a little gloss in the A-League in recent weeks but there is no denying their Cup form has been spectacular, with striker Sergio Cirio scoring in every round thus far.
Home advantage could be crucial and Coopers Stadium was the scene of the the only game Glory have lost so far this season.
