The Australian dollar is lower after oil prices fell to fresh five-year lows after the International Energy Agency cut its oil-demand forecast for 2015.
At 0630 AEDT on Monday, the local unit was trading at 82.36 US cents, down from 82.72 cents on Friday.
And the Australian share market looks set to open sharply lower after Wall Street and European stocks plummeted following another big drop in oil prices.

At 0645 AEDT on Monday, the December share price index futures contract was down 63 points at 5,154.
