A man is set to face court after he allegedly ran from the scene of a crash that killed a woman and left a man injured in Sydney's inner west.
Police say the 22-year-old's ute veered off Victoria Road, Rozelle, mounted the curb and struck a woman and man on the footpath.
The 47-year-old woman died at the scene.
The second pedestrian, a 49-year-old man, was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.
Police say the P-plate driver tried to flee the scene but was detained by witnesses in a citizen's arrest about 11.15am on Sunday.
The 22-year-old man is set to face Newtown Local Court on Monday.
He has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, grievous bodily harm and failing to stop and assist.
