THE world’s best TV vault is set to open for Australian subscribers of new streaming service provider, Presto — after an exclusive deal with acclaimed international studios, HBO and Showtime.

The joint venture between Foxtel and Seven West Media is set to confirm the multi-million dollar content coup which will see global television hits including The Sopranos, The Wire, Veep and True Blood only a click away for customers when the subscription video on demand (SVOD) service launches early next year.

The premium content producers have been responsible for generating some of the most popular TV programs in the last decade, credited with driving the creative renaissance of TV and attracting some of the best writers, directors and actors back to the small screen.

HBO will offer its underworld mega-hit The Sopranos, Hollywood buddy dramedy Entourage, gritty crime drama The Wire, and prohibition era epic Boardwalk Empire.

Fans of 20-something sensation, Girls and acclaimed political comedy, Veep will also be made available instantly when Presto launches locally in 2015.

Showtime’s slate will also include serial killer thriller, Dexter, historical drama, The Borgias and moody medical satire, Nurse Jackie.

Shaun James, director of Presto said: “we’re pulling out all the stops to ensure we have a compelling line-up of television content available for our subscribers when Presto Entertainment goes live and are thrilled to announce these amazing hits from HBO and Showtime.

“Aussies will see these hit shows first and exclusively on Presto and we know that these TV gems will delight our subscribers.”

Beyond back catalogues of loved box sets, Presto is also expected to announce original programming commissions when its full content line-up is revealed in the coming weeks.
