The Surfboard singer, 17, told E! Online that things between him and girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, 19, were “amazing”.

Simpson confirmed he would get Hadid a Christmas present but was yet to get around to it. He said he wasn’t sweating it though.

“I got time. I know her pretty well, I know what to do,” he said. “She likes letters and stuff like that and I like to write songs so I’ll probably go down that route.”

The couple broke up earlier this year with Simpson saying in September he was enjoying the single life.

However the pair was spotted earlier this month holding hands and have confirmed they are now back together.

Hadid, the daughter of Yolanda Foster, one of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has seen her modelling career skyrocket this year landing a number of big campaigns.

Last month Simpson released his duet with good friend Justin Bieber, Home to Mama, from

their upcoming joint album.

Simpson has amassed the most Twitter followers of any Australia with 7.19 million supporting the teenagers. He beat out 5 Seconds of Summer with 5.38 million, Hugh Jackman with 4.84 million and Iggy Azalea with 3.43 million.
