THE Footy Show host Paul â€œFattyâ€ Vautin is recovering in hospital after being struck by a branch on the Gold Coast.

The rugby league great suffered a fractured vertebrae after being hit by the falling branch while playing golf.

Channel 9 reported the injury was as a small fracture in his neck.

Vautin said he will be OK and will make a full recovery.
