POPULAR television presenter Sarah Harris has opened up about her hopes of becoming a mum, saying she’s so clucky that the mere sight of a baby makes her “go nuts”.

The 33-year-old co-host of Channel Ten’s morning show Studio 10 wed the love of her life Tom Ward in an intimate ceremony in Sydney last July.

But Harris admits she’d had baby on the brain for months prior.

“I think it came on maybe six months before I got married,” she said. “It’s like someone flicked a switch and suddenly I’ve gone nuts.

“I am so clucky. I want one. I always thought I’d like kids one day, but it has become quite primal. It’s almost like my ovaries are aching for a child.”

Once upon a time, she might’ve been nervous about having a baby when work was becoming so busy, but that was then.

“I always had this small fear when it comes to babies, thinking about my career and juggling taking time off. Then I spoke to (Studio 10 co-hosts) Ita Buttrose and Jessica Rowe and they reassured me that we could all make it work.

“My boss is the same. Rob (McKnight) believes it takes a village to raise a child and told me we’ll work it all about when it happens. That was definitely a weight off.”

Rumours have been swirling for months that Harris might already be pregnant, after a throwaway comment on air prompted speculation.

Her obsession with babies hasn’t helped ease the constant questions about when she might start trying either.

“I mean, it’s almost at the point of picking up babies in the supermarket for a cuddle and being told to put them down by their actual mothers!” she joked.

“I’m nuts. It’s this weird, weird feeling. I can’t wait.”

Until then, she and new hubby Ward, an IT specialist, are revelling in married life and busying themselves with some house hunting.

With work going so well and her personal life blossoming, Harris said she’s the happiest she has ever been.

“It’s a really nice space to be in and it’s so nice to know someone has your back all the time, no matter what.

“He keeps my feet on the ground too. He’s extremely down to earth and doesn’t care about any of the TV stuff. It’s not his world.”

Harris describes herself as having two halves — “work Sarah” who is happy walking the red carpet at lavish events, and “home Sarah” who loves nothing more than a quiet night in.

“He likes keeping a low profile too. We’re happy at home where we just chill out.”

Studio 10 airs weekdays at 8.30am on Channel Ten. Shark Tank premieres in the New Year.
