FOR four months, Amanda Holley claims her dreams of being a police officer were unfairly crushed in the academy as she was taunted about her pretty face, her breasts, and character.

The 29-year-old Holley, from the town of Jackson, New York, has lodged a lawsuit against The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey stating that she was told she was “too feminine” to be a cop.

Holley alleges that she was called a Barbie, an American Girl Doll, and subjected to other harassment from the moment she entered the Jersey City academy in August 2013 until she left four months later.

The sexual harassment did not go unnoticed by other recruits, who saw Sergeant Erick Torres and other officers demean Holley in front of her peers, comment on her breasts and attack her with pepper spray during training, states the lawsuit obtained by New York Daily News.

Torres allegedly pointed out that Holley had large breasts, stating: “Don’t forget your sports bra” because “you’re the only one with a chest”.

Holley, who has a master’s degree in social work and used to rehabilitate jail inmates for a living, alleges that Torres said she “did not have the gumption to do law enforcement work and should have stuck with social works solely because she was a young female”.

During defence tactics training in November 2013, Holley claims Torres embarrassed her in front of fellow recruits, and anoher officer, Officer Josh Oliveri said: “Everyone will live except Holley”, NJ.com reported.

“Holley, when you are killed in the line of duty, I’ll make sure you look pretty for your family,” Torres said, according to the lawsuit. “I do a lot of funerals for fallen cops and I normally never look at their face but for you I’ll make sure you look pretty for your family.”

After she was pepper sprayed by Torres and four other officers, she was allegedly “paraded” in front of the platoon, called Angelina Jolie because of her swollen face and asked if she had had a Botox injection.

Holley was meant to graduate in January 2014, but was sacked for refusing to resign after failing a firearms test.

“I get that they’re supposed to try and break you down and eventually build you up at some point,” Holley told myfoxny.com. “They broke me down and kept breaking me down.”

Holley’s lawsuit demands unspecified damages and compensation for lost wages and injury to reputation after four months of alleged harassment in which she says she was silenced by abusive instructors out of risk of being terminated.

Port Authority of New York & New Jersey management has not commented.

Holley is planning to marry her boyfriend Anthony Trombetta in December 2015.
