POLICE have launched a murder inquiry after a plumber died from 20 stab wounds — caused by a raging stag.
Vladimir Kostur, 59, was working at a farm in Slovakia when the 300 kilogram stag attacked him with its antlers.
“I was just arriving to give Vlad a hand when I saw the stag appear out of nowhere and attack him,†friend Frantisek Cerny said, according toThe Mirror. “I ran over to help but by the time I got there he was unconscious.â€
Now, to the surprise of locals, police are considering charging the stag with a criminal offence as it intended to cause harm.
“The case is being investigated as an assault,†police spokeswoman Martina Kredatusova said.
“It very much depends now if it was a wild stag or if it was owned by someone. We are still investigating.â€
Farmer Martin Moravek can’t believe the charges, saying: “It was a terrible accident and our hearts go out to the man’s family. But this isn’t a criminal case. It’s an animal and they are unpredictable.â€
