YOUTUBE has released its annual thrill-ride back to the best moments, memes and viral stars of the year.
The video sharing site’s Rewind 2014 mashes up hit tracks with references to 2014’s most memorable trends.
They include the mutant spider-dog, the indefatigable Ice Bucket Challenge and the ever-present Let It Go from Disney movie Frozen.
The clip is entitled Turn Down For 2014, a reference to DJ Snake and Lil Jon’s Turn Down For What, the first song in a mix by DJ Earworm that splices many of this year’s biggest songs.
Traversing New York, London and Tokyo, we see a street dance sequence inspired by Pharrell Williams’s Happy, and a homage to Iggy Azalea’s Fancy on a set populated with YouTube stars.
We also see recreations of Katy Perry’s Dark Horse and odes to booty Anaconda andAll About That Bass.
The video revisits top viral videos such as First Kiss, in which complete strangers locked lips for the first time.

As well as YouTube stars, Rewind 2014 features TV personalities Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel, John Oliver, Stephen Colbert, and of course, Big Bird.
