Goodrem recently reprised her Neighbours character, Nina Tucker, for the popular soap’s 30-year celebrations.
She debuted on Ramsay St in June 2002 and was an instant hit. A year later, she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma and had to leave the show for treatment. After her health improved, Goodrem returned to Ramsay St in 2004 to tie up her storylines.
“It was so beautiful,†Goodrem said of her return to Erinsborough. “There are no words to describe the tears of inspiration I’ve felt from it, because it’s where everything started for me.
“I wanted to enjoy the moment of Nina coming back and playing with her storyline. It’s 13 years later, and Nina is a little bit evolved.â€
Meanwhile, Delta visited kids in hospital, including 10-month-old Sebastian Andrews, for the Starlight Foundation.
Goodrem will spend Christmas at her base in Los Angeles, where she is preparing a new album.
“There will definitely be new music — it’s time,†she said.
She will return to Australia in early 2015 as a bridesmaid for her brother Trent, who is marrying longtime girlfriend Carly Pederson.
Delta said: “It’s going to be a big family affair, it’ll be nice.â€
