BREAKING up in social media is hardly normal behaviour, but when the breakup rant is filled with bitterness and your character is savaged, will an apology make do.
Hip hop singer Chris Brown accused his girlfriend, 26-year-old model Karrueche Tran, of cheating on him with rapper Drake, engaging in threesomes and only once visiting in prison on Brown’s Instagram page. He then publicly attacked her at Power 106’s annual Cali Christmas concert in Inglewood.

Brown, who began dating Tran in 2011, before rekindling his romance with Rihanna, and then falling back into the arms of Tran in 2013, clearly wanted to break up with Tran again on Sunday. Complex magazine reported that he wrote this on Instagram about Tran.
“We’ve got scars, some of them u gave me, some of them I’ve caused. That ride or die act we have been fooling the world with obviously ain’t working. I was locked up for damn near 4 months and only got 1 visit from you while u was hosting parties and taking secret trips to Toronto, going on dates with Drake! When this relationship first started u knew what it was and even participated in threesomes. I slowed all that s**t down. So let’s not try to save face for public opinion because I don’t need to play victim so people can take my side. All these celebrity niggas ain’t s**t and focus only on themselves. I made it clear to the world who my girl was and made your life equal to mine even at the cost of me not focusing on my career at times. So miss me wit the bullshit. Now yall know the real.â€
If that wasn’t hurtful enough, at the Cali Christmas concert he yelled out to the crowd: “How many single ladies we got in here tonight? Well, I’m single, too. F!@# that bitch.â€
Tran announced the breakup on her Twitter account.
Then she defended herself when attacked by Brown.
Then Brown made a contrite apology on Instagram: “I just want baby girl to know I apologise.â€
Will Tran fall for him again? She took the opportunity of being in the public eye by going to Miami Beach, Florida, in a white crop top, before revealing a string bikini bearing the words Taco Bae, a marketing tweet from fast food restaurant chain Taco Bell.
Then news broke that Brown’s dancer, Stephanie Moseley, was shot dead by husband, rapper Earl Hayes, who then turned the gun on himself in an apartment in Los Angeles. Moseley also appeared on VH1’s Hit the Floor.
Brown, forgetting his own personal demons, tweeted:
Tran, who clearly knew Moseley too, tweeted:
