SHE has more than 700,000 followers on Instagram and her YouTube videos have been watched millions of times.
Sarah Ellen — who is better known online as @sarah3llen — is the 16-year-old from Sydney ruling the internet.
She’s met by hundreds of screaming fans (think Bieber-grade screaming) when she makes shopping centre appearances, lists Ariana Grande as an idol, and her Instagram feed brings on a serious case of outfit envy.
And while the teenager is tight-lipped about how much coin her status as an internet celebrity is bringing in, it’s already landed her a gig as the national face of fashion chain Supre.
So why is she famous?
VIRAL VIDEOS
It started with a 30-second video of Sarah — who left high school last year and is studying fashion — “dancing†with her eyebrows.
“It’s on like 56 million views now,†she said.
“Not everybody can dance their eyebrows like that so I think people wanted to ... share it around.â€
Then there was the seven-minute video she posted on her YouTube channel — of her and her friend, reality star Jai Waetford, which has been watched more than 3.4 million times (in it, they pull faces and talk about how they met).
BEING QUIRKY
She puts down her internet fame to being “quirkyâ€, “a bit humorous†and attracting followers who want to know about “all the new trendsâ€.
“They’re just really interested in my lifestyle I guess, see who I’m friends with,†she said.
INSTAGRAM APPEAL
She takes her Instagram feed “really seriouslyâ€.
So what is this famous internet teen’s advice to building a following on Instagram — even if you’re not trying to break the internet?
“Make sure that you have good quality content and you’re keeping consistent and you’re staying true to your brand,†she said.
“I try to upload once a day, three times if I can. My followers want to see as much as they can.â€
FAN-DEMONIUM
She said the screaming fans at her Supre appearances are “definitely surrealâ€.
“A lot of the time I can be on my phone and looking at my followers going up and up and up and up and a lot of the time, it’s just a number on the screen.
“So when I’m out there having meet and greets it’s definitely awesome. It’s not a feeling that you can just get over. I don’t think I could ever get sick of it.â€
Ellen stars in the latest campaign for fashion chain Supre. She is relaunching her YouTube channel and plans to start a blog called Perks of Her next month.
