WHAT’S the biggest tip you’ve ever given someone? ‘Tis the season to be giving, but this is taking it to another level.

A waitress in the US city of Branson, Missouri has become a social media sensation after she received an amazing early Christmas present from a pair of generous customers.

Cindi Grady, a waitress at restaurant franchise Cracker Barrel, was driving around an old Hyundai which looked more like a car wreck.

“I was in a spot where I was depressed, driving that car there, just feeling like nobody cares,” she told local news station KOLR10. “It’s very different now.”

In fact, it pretty much was a wreck — Ms Grady had run into five deer with the car. “It runs pretty good, it’s just the cosmetic work on it that’s just falling apart. The deer really got to it,” she said.

When regular customer Gary Tackett noticed the car in the parking lot, he thought it was abandoned. When he found out it belonged to an employee, Mr Tackett told his wife “something has to be done”.

They returned to the restaurant several weeks later with a the gift of a second-hand car for Ms Grady. The video of the couple’s “tip of a lifetime” quickly went viral after being posted on Facebook by their daughter.

“It’s not new but it’s new to you,” Mr Tackett tells Ms Grady in the video.

He told the station they never intended for the video to gain so much attention — they simply wanted to take care of someone.

“It’s all about what’s in your heart,” he said. “I know Cindi said it was her best Christmas ever, and I can assure you it’s ours.”

Ms Grady has installed deer whistles on the new car to prevent the same thing happening again.

“It’s restored my faith in humanity,” she said. “Everyone I talk to says the same thing. There are good people in the world that are watching that care. And you might not even know them.”
