DAVID Warner’s brilliant innings came to an end when he was dismissed for 145 after tea on the opening day of the first Test at Adelaide Oval.
Warner was caught on the mid-wicket boundary by Ishant Sharma when he advanced at the leg-spin bowling of debutant Karn Sharma.

Warner exited with the score 3-258, with Mitchell Marsh joining Steve Smith (23) at the crease.
The big concern is for Michael Clarke, who retired hurt on a dramatic day.
The skipper had overcome a hamstring injury and passed a fitness test to play in the summer’s first clash with India, but aggravated his back midway through the second session.
He was 60 not out and forging a superb partnership with Warner, who had earlier raised an emotional century as a fitting tribute to good mate Phillip Hughes.
With his country at 2-209 Clarke went down after twisting to avoid a legside delivery and left the field after receiving treatment in the middle.
It was unclear whether Clarke’s injury was a spasm or a recurrence of ongoing back concerns.
Chris Rogers (nine) was the first Aussie batsman to go when he edged Ishant Sharma to second slip, while Shane Watson never really looked settled on his way to 14 before he also edged to second slip.
