PRESENTER Yumi Stynes has defended taking her six month old baby Mercy to a red carpet event wearing nothing but a nappy.
Stynes told popular blog mamamia: “Nicole Kidman dresses up for a red carpet, I don’t believe my six-month-old needs to.â€
Indeed, Kidman was fully dressed for the party, as were other celebrities, at the premiere of the Paddington Bear movie in Sydney.

Stynes’ supporters say it was a hot day for the movie’s VIP morning session and children were everywhere.
Her husband Martin Bendeler told mamamia: “There is nothing more Australian than a baby wearing a nappy on a hot day. If you’re offended by a six month-old’s nipples, you’re weird.â€
Stynes’ management team did not return calls from Confidential for comment on the incident.
Stynes, a radio and television presenter, and mother of three children, made headlines two years ago after making disparaging comments about SAS Corporal Ben Roberts-Smith on a television talk show.
She later said: “I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to offend anybody.â€
