THE Duchess of Cambridge is touring a child development centre in New York, while her husband the Duke of Cambridge meets with President Barack Obama at the Oval Office in Washington.
The royal couple carried out solo engagements during their three-day whirlwind tour of the US.
Kate shook hands warmly with New York’s first lady Chirlane McCray before they entered the Northside Centre for Child Development in Harlem.
The pregnant Duchess, whose hair was half swept back and who was wearing a black coat by Goat with white edging, was greeted with cheers from spectators across the street.
The centre provides educational and mental health services to about 3300 children and families each year.
It is the couple’s first visit to the US since 2011 and their first to New York or Washington.
William is delivering a major speech on the illegal wildlife trade in Washington after meeting Mr Obama and vice president Joe Biden.
