Forever 21US fast fashion giant, Forever 21, will open its first Sydney store at the newly revamped Macquarie Centre this week on Thursday, December 11.

The 1200sqm store will be located on the second level of Macquarie Centre’s fashion galleria, which includes fellow international fashion brands H&M, Uniqlo, Gap, and Zara.

Following the North Ryde centre’s $440 million redevelopment, it is now home to the most large format international high street fashion brands of any Australian shopping centre.

The Fashion 21 store will be the first for the US retailer in Sydney, carrying its main fashion lines, activewear and basic apparel, lingerie, shoes, accessories, and contemporary range, Love & Beauty.

Forever 21 opened its first Australian store in Brisbane’s Queen St Mall in October.  The fashion giant will open its second Sydney store next year in the city’s Pitt St Mall, expected to be one of the brand’s biggest in the world, alongside rival, H&M.

The space will span three interconnected levels from lower ground to level one, with prime street level frontage to Pitt St Mall.

Forever 21 was founded by US immigrant Chang, and his wife in Los Angeles in 1984. Since then, it has grown to more than 600 stores globally, with 600 more planned to open in the next three years.

The Australian license is held by Sharaf Retail, a Dubai-based business with interests in retail, real estate (including Dubai shopping centre, Times Square Center), logistics, IT, travel, finance, and industry.

Sharaf is responsible for Forever 21’s presence in the Middle East as well as Australian brand, Cotton on, Sharaf DG, Sanrio (owner of Hello Kitty), Woolworths (South Africa), Adventure HQ, Yellow Hat, YooMoo, and Hello Kitty Spa.
