Mack and Schaefer have been held at separate police jails since their arrest and have not seen other since mid October when police brought them together for a reconstruction of the crime at the five-star St Regis Resort in Nusa Dua.

In his statement Schaefer allegedly told police that he hit Mrs Mack in a moment of spontaneous defence because she hit him first and that at the time Heather Mack was in the bathroom.
He called her out after Mrs Mack was dead. Earlier, it was alleged that Schaefer had been offended by Mrs Mack, claiming she called him a “niggerâ€.
Later today the couple will be transferred to Kerobokan prison to await trial.
